state and media equations vis a vis society

many states especially the most developed democracies of the world impose strict restrictions on tv channels to air or not to air cetrtain programmes and films. i shall elaborate the state -media equation in my next post,however i invite views of concerned viewers/social activists/alert citizen on this subject.
